Authentic Mexican food in a large no-frills environment. Cash, credit/debit card payments accepted. Staff is friendly and Spanish and English are both spoken (menus are bi-lingual as well). Menu has a lot of options for traditional Mexican-American favorites. Prices are reasonable for this part of town. Indoor & outdoor seating. Beans and rice are fine but not particularly memorable or evident of home cooking. Tostadas are good and simple. I like that they offered breakfast options all day, like huevos rancheros and chilaquiles. Chilaquiles were different in appearance than I've had at other restaurants but may reflect regional variations in the preparation. No egg in/on the chilaquiles, but generous portions of skirt steak (though not very seasoned and a bit overcooked). Slices of fresh jalapeno and lots of onions (both good things in my book!). Choice of red or green sauce. I was told red is the most popular and it was a good enchilada sauce and it won't cause any difficulties if you're sensitive to spiciness. This place is apparently known for (or prominently featuring) their fresh juice beverages. Lots of options that did indeed look delicious - next time I'll try one of those! Their horchata was spot on though and very refreshing. Small serving of tortilla chips (they look homemade or from the tortilleria at the end of the strip mall) before the meal. Large salsa bar with pickled and fresh veggies and at least four different salsa options of varying spice levels. Roasted fresh jalapenos are always a treat!
